Doug Fergusson, MDVislink Logistics Doug has been the Operations manager at Microwave Radio Communications for over four years. He has been responsible for ensuring that operations delivered the significant increase in output due to the BAS (2Ghz) programme whilst maintaining control and support of the entire business. During this time Doug significantly changed the process and the flow of manufacturing to improve the controls and cost structure of the group.
Prior to joining MRC, Doug has had over thirty years of manufacturing experience. He was the Senior Production manager with Sanmina running a 7/24 Printed Circuit Board manufacturing operation for three years. When the work was transferred overseas, Doug was the manger that was asked to stay and be in charge of shutting down the facility. Prior to Sanmina, Doug worked for Digital Equipment Corporation for 25 years coming up through the Finance organization and then spending fifteen years gaining experience in all aspects of operations, steadily moving up to more senior level positions in different operational functions until he was in charge of the Production and Inventory Control group in the largest of the Digital Manufacturing plants shipping over $1 billion per year. When Digital was sold to Compaq, Doug was in charge of the manufacturing transition of products to sites in Houston and Fremont before he left Digital to join Sanmina. Doug grew up and went to school in Glasgow Scotland before immigrating to the US in 1976.
