Western Technical Services (WTS), a Vislink Holding, Inc. company, today announced the purchase of services backlog of Scotts Valley Group, Inc. a California corporation doing business as MARCOM. WTS, based in the City of Orange, California, specializes in the design, installation and maintenance of video and data microwave communications, Electronic News Gathering (ENG), Airborne Law Enforcement (ALE), cellular and PCS, satellite, video surveillance, structured cabling, fiber optics and site control systems.
“WTS is excited to have this increased presence in the San Francisco region,” stated Robert Jordan, General Manager of WTS. “We have enjoyed our relationship with MARCOM through the years as MRC VARs and it is with great pleasure that we can now join together as one entity under the Vislink banner.”
MARCOM has been a Value Added Reseller (VAR) for Microwave Radio Communications for over 3 decades, covering the northern half of California and part of Nevada and the northwest U.S region. Brad Jackson, a principal in MARCOM, has joined WTS as a Regional Operations Manager and will manage the San Francisco area office. Marty Jackson, the founder of MARCOM will continue on as a consultant with WTS.

A key part of the Vislink strategy is to create incremental long-term recurring revenue opportunities by expanding the Vislink US Technical Services business through both organic and acquisition led growth. As part of that strategy, Vislink acquired WTS in July of 2007, created a services team at Microwave Radio Communications in Billerica, MA and opened a services office in Tampa in June of 2008. The acquisition of MARCOM’s order book will enhance service revenues from both the domestic US BAS relocation project and the Law Enforcement and Security markets as well as providing recurring revenues as the broadcast market moves towards contracted services.
